I strongly condemn the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, the United States Republican presidential candidate.
Singapore is a relatively safe place but we live in an unsafe world and people resort to violence for all sorts of reasons, still, whatever it is, it cannot be tolerated much less when weapons that are potentially fatal are used.
Many people might have forgotten by now but we in Singapore do have our share of attacks on politicians too.
In 2011, pap MP for Yio Chu Kang constituency Seng Han Thong (SHT) was poured thinner and set alight by a disgruntled resident who was not selected for financial handouts for needy elderly as revenge. His face, neck and back were burnt.
Even earlier in 2006, the same SHT was punched in the face by a 74 years old taxi driver for not helping him get his revoked licence reinstated.
Both cases involved money and the latter case involved the livelihood of an elderly cabby. I repeat, the latter case involved the livelihood of a 74 years old cabby!
I wonder how many of us bothered or could empathise with the plight of that 74 years old taxi driver, however, I want to make it clear that I am not condoning or defending the action of that old cabby. What he did was definitely wrong. Period.
Times are hard for more and more people in Singapore due much to the greed and mediocre performances of the pap government. I do not see much respite for the majority of our citizens going forward. Once those CDC vouchers and cash handouts taper off, the cost of living bites will be painful and lasting for many fellow citizens.
I do not advocate or support violence but I do want our know how to pay themselves million dollars political salaries leaders to be able to truly feel how growing numbers of our struggling fellow citizens feel and fear going forward living in the world's most expensive country.
Please do not ask them to eat cakes.

Compared to this and even our closest neighbours,Sgporeans are very GRACIOUS AND HARMLESS.
HOWEVER,however,WITH MORE PRs and newly minted “$itizens”,the scenario might gradually change.
Peoples who take up “re$idency” and/or “$itizenship” here in recent times do so for “CONdusive” economic benefit$ which are obtained at many a good sg’s grave expense owing to distorted govt policies.
Once such “benefit$” are seen to be “withdrawn” ,either via policies or otherwi$e,SUCH RESIDENTS/NEW $ITIZENS may not take kindly and RESORT TO VIOLENCE “THRY” ARE SO EXPOSED TO in their OWN MOTHERLANDS where THEY came from.
It took us,TRUBLUs,more than 50 years of INTER-MINGLING IN CULTURE,LANGUAGE,RELIGION AND EVEN HARDSHIP TO ARRIVE AT WHERE WE ARE.
BUT,IT WILL TAKE A MUCH SHORTER TIME TO DISMANTLE ALL THE GOODWILL we HAD BUILD.
ALREADY,”BIG” CRACKS ARE SURFACING.
Even once good sgs are not as gracious to fellow trublu sgs as before.
You see young sgs deriding and even bullying elderly sgs openly.
What are our $cholar-gahmen thinking ?
Probably,just “group-thinking” about HOW TO COLLECT MORE MONEY…AND $quandering on themselves n “alien$” or on buying llies for younger sgs to appease them and letting older sgs to perish by the wayside’s cracks or pothole$?

Trump has too many enemies. Trump is a unscrupulous businessman who suck dry on customers and workers to make big profit and escape taxes. He talk about saving money on Europe and low tax for rich as a president which is his true character. There will always be people who think violence will solve the problem without seeing the bigger picture of being arrested, charged and jailed/caned. 40% aren’t happy with pay and pay but not many will actually carry out a physical attack on any of their MP/minister. And this is where social media comes into play as people can vent their frustrations online which is the next best thing loh.
End of the day it’s an election that determines a party’s fate. Should more of the 60% wake up in the next election we might well see you know who lose a lot more seats than they planned for. See how it goes lah.
