Iran launches barrage of missiles at Israel

Author: Iran has reportedly launched more than 150 ballistic missiles towards southern Israel from Khorramabad and Hamadan, passing over Iraq and Jordan.
This assault is claimed to be in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah last week and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh earlier this year.
With air raid sirens sounding across Israel, Israeli residents were ordered to shelter in place and remain close to bomb shelters.
Israel and U.S. had earlier warned there would be “repercussions” if Iran attacks. Tehran said the attacks are a response to the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and other militant figures.
Unlike in April when Iran retaliated with over 300+ slow drones and missiles, this time round Iran uses only ballistic missiles, which are faster and more deadly. Meanwhile Iranian officials have vowed that this is just the beginning, suggesting that this may only be the first wave of numerous to come.
This significant escalation raises concerns about regional stability and potential military responses, with the international community closely monitoring the situation.
