In an obvious attempt to escallate the war in the middle east and force the warmongering US into the conflict, the Israeli air force has targeted Syria's Khmeimim base, where Russian forces are stationed. An arms depot in the base was destroyed as a result.

Meanwhile, Russia has advised its citizens to leave Israel and Lebanon as soon as possible. With 1.5 million Russians in Israel and Russians also evacuating from Lebanon, tensions are evidently rising in the region.

Observers have opined that Russia is likely to retaliate, the worrying question remains as to how hard Putin intends to retaliate against Israel's provocation.
