He is the kind who won’t want to see where the real problems are. If he doesn’t want to see where they are, how would he have fixed them?
If you have an ex-village chief and his henchmen still calling or controlling the shots when his time has expired, there will still be innovation but a different kind. Just don’t do things that are good for self but bad for village.

The one thing the current chief must NOT do is mollycoddle his teammates when they don’t deserve to be protected. There are bad eggs in his team that must go elsewhere. There are good villagers from the opposition he must learn to work with, not adopt a double standard combative attitude like his predecessor. For a start, cut down the number of constituent sub-villages from a huge grc to maximum 3, or better still increase number of single constituent sub- villages since they can already do without elected minority representations. Ideal case, abolish the whole grc process.
Then keep the option to form back some grc if the voters agree after election.

Don’t do things that have high visibility. Many engagements do not require them. Especially when he is branded “smirk” in public and he has teammates following suit.

Also for a start, be prepared to share with the public important records to true blue (not converted) non-sycophant villagers when asked. Follow this recipe and allow real problems to surface even when the whole journey can be debilitating. Unfortunately, this leaves his famous call to look elsewhere for success still hollow because he has many teammates who don’t deserve the salaries and privileges they get. His teammates all the way to ground levels has tons of idiots. Good luck to him!

One more thing for the current chief. Give everyone in his team the KPI to innovate. Innovate on general applications. Innovate on bringing fertility rates up. Peg it to 40% of their allowances and salaries which most of them are earning on part time not full time basis anyway. Don’t insist that opposition chiefs are subject to the same measurements since PA can nominate non-elected idiot leaders to work on things, run grassroots and ceremonies. Not sit back and evaluate and only know how to evaluate, become messengers and say nos despite high appointments. The old KPI of only using GDP to fatten their pockets is insufficient at best by now. If he wants the village’s and his survival chances to go past Jun 2027.

Did Active.sg remove the priority for Singaporeans to book tax-funded sports facilities by changing to ballot system.
Prior to change TRUE BLUE Singaporeans—mostly NS served—had one -day advantage over foreigners.
