Top wishes for 2025?

When Elon Musk observed that Singapore will go extinct in the near future due to the shrinking birth rate, one of the wishes for 2025 (in the Forum Page) is, well, to tackle that. We need to do something about it. We do not want to be the last of the Mohicans.

Others from the Forum Page wish for protection of the environment and well, better women’s health and youth mental health.

Closer to home, we have more practical wishes like lower taxes, lower prices, and giving free nutritious lunches to all needy primary school pupils and free medical care for all children up to the age of 12. Hmm…workable?

There is one particular wish that is personal. His story is that he had applied to become a Singaporean and was rejected many times. His siblings were all born in Singapore and were naturalised at birth. But his mum was in Johor when she gave birth to him. So he was left out.

He wrote: “It seems that I have to pay a price because of bad luck or my parents’ negligence. My wish is thus to become a Singaporean.”

Here’s hoping the authorities pay some attention there and make his New Year wish come true.

Still, there is one forum contributor who wishes for a “quiet commute”.

He wrote: “My sincere wish for 2025 is to see proper behaviour from commuters.” He had seen inconsiderate commuters “speaking loudly on their mobile devices. Some even turn up the volume to listen to audio broadcasts.” I suppose some of us can relate?

Last but not least, we have the grand all-time wish offered with the best of intentions. If his wish comes true, the world would look very different from what it is now. So strap up for his three wishes.
“My first wish for 2025 is that all wars will end. The second is to love and be loved by people I encounter in my life. Last but not least, I wish to remind all Singaporeans to count our blessings as we have enjoyed 60 years of peace and stability.”

I don’t know your wish for 2025, but for some of us, we have many wishes, while others don’t even bother to make one. It’s debatable whether we should have (or make) them, if we tend to break them midstream or bargain them down, and they are soon forgotten.

But for those who want to live intentionally, maybe it is good for the soul to be conscious of living our life by making a commitment towards our betterment. It’s never too late to start, at whatever age.
And a major step in that direction is to just be consistent, even if the road is long and silent, and no one at first notices the change.

If our life is not moving towards some tangible progression, mainly of how we respond better to circumstances, and watching our character grow from those responses, then we are living like a leaf tossed and thrown by the wild tides, or even the trendy ones.

For most of us, it is warm soup for the soul to count our blessings for the year past and the year to come. That is definitely a good place to start any noble endeavour and to end with it too.

Gratitude deepens our perspective. It gives us roots against our unanchored appetites. Gratitude also widens our perspective so our focus is on a future hope that sees to it our eventual overcoming.

We draw upon what is given to us thus far, appreciate the growth from it, and from there, we take a step of courage forward to shape our future.

Gratitude also reminds us that we are not helpless if we know what to protect and cherish and what to let go. True autonomy comes from a heart that is at peace with itself, being able make full use of what we have and letting go of what was never meant for us.

That wisdom to know the difference is the gift of freedom and that is the sustaining power of a heart of gratitude and contentment.

Somebody does not appreciate his parents’ plan. Keep him out. We don’t want people like that.

  • Harder Truths:

What is $inkeland’s population? Just a collection of migrants that are replaced when the older generation die off or return to their home countries. Such a country cannot become ‘extinct’. Firstly because there is no indigenous population that is in danger of becoming extinct. Secondly there is an endless supply of migrants who can instantly be converted to $inkaporeans. And as this island has reached 6 million – 4 million of whom are FT, it is far from going ‘extinct’.

Our total fertility rate (TFR) was already below 2.0 in 1978. If you take 2.1 as the population replacement rate, we were already failing in 1977 as it was just above 2.0 but below 2.1. Why wayang about a problem that had been around for >45 years. That’s right, almost half a century.

Gratitude is something I reserved for people who genuinely helped and supported me, not for those who claimed that they are with me, for me, for Singapore. Then, they go stabbing me in the back, time and again. Their excuse is that we are too timid to voice out our issues; unfortunately, there are too many competiting voices, blah, blah, blah. Look, no parents feed their children poisonous food and when the children are rolling on the floor in pain, the parents simply say, “Why didn’t you shout loudly for help?”

It is pointless, just move on. As usual, let’s act like nothing happened just like our TFR figure.

    Elon Musk ?

Theres no qualms that Mr Musk is a successful enterpreneur and a great biz man. He even supercede Mr Steve Jobs. He started or invested in enterprises resulting in paradigm shift e.g. Tesla, Space X, Neuralink, Chatgpt AI.. However thats under the scope of biz and technology. Politics and family wise thats another thing.

Mr Han never mentioned Mr Musk elder son is a lgbt and had a sex change. Father and son bay song each other right. Likewise Steve Jobs and his elder daughter also bay song each other.

Lastly I would borrow and quote pro chinas usual excuses to rebutt Mr Musk.
Have you visited Sg ? Have you live and stay long enough in Sg ? You dont know Sg ? Mr Musk you need to visit Sg more often ? ….

My Top wishes for 2025 with dearest one is being for more opposition parties to be voted into Parliament, not just the WP and PSP. In this connection I wish the WP would be more inclusive and less ‘atas’ and PAP-lite when it comes to the business of all things opposition.

Politics is not the domain of just the PAP, WP and the PSP. There are others. The WP cannot do much as a loyal opposition even if a two-party system evolves and it’s not happening. The PAP will do everything to prevent it.

There is a tendency for a royal opposition to be seduce by the PAP into being complicit in pushing for policies that are detrimental to the well-being of the people. Take the WP’s role as a loyal opposition in the Covid-19 pandemic. The WP had supported the PAP and their ‘experts’ vaccination blindly. Pritam Singh, the opposition leader and the WP falls short in Parliament by not questioning the effectiveness of the vaccine. During Covid-19 pandemic it was not the Pritam Singh and any WP members in Parliament but PPP’s sec-gen Goh Meng Seng who dove-deep into the effectiveness and the harmful side-effects, staying the alert 24/7 to the latest development of pandemic crisis not only here but internationally. It was not WP Pritam Singh and the WP that question the most blatant abuse of the PAP’s vaccination discrimination program, No jab, no job. The WP, the self-proclaimed loyal opposition kept deafening quiet. It was again the PPP’s Goh Meng Seng and Heal the Divide, Iris Koh who raised the Red Flag against the PAP for it’s human rights abuse.

PAP is the disease. The WP has worryingly shown early symptoms of the PAP disease.

Followings are not my wishes, just stories that I heard and wondering why the healthcare system so troublesome?

Case 1: an elderly was referred to a hospital to do a dementia checkup. After the ‘dementia screening test’, she/he was given a date for brain scan. However she/he didnt go for the scan bcoz at that time, it was covid period. The hospital staff told the caregiver that if the patient missed the appointment (open date is 1 yr), she/he has to go back to polyclinic to get a referral letter again.
Just wondering why cant the patient just go back to the hospital for brain scan instead of going through the whole process again? Why must the patient waste the time and money on getting a referral letter and then do the screening test again? Isnt this a waste of healthcare resources too?

Case 2: an elderly did an operation in hospital A before and later she/he has to go back for routine checkup. However, the patient shifted house and would like to request for the checkup to be done in hospital B which is nearer to house. However hospital B staff told the patient that if she/he wanted to do the transfer, she/he has to get a referral letter from polyclinic (for subsidised). Or she/he can do the transfer directly but under private patient.
Again, why cant the patient bypass the polyclinic referral process and transfer directly since it was not a new case? Is it bcoz the hospital are not in the same cluster? Is there any difference if the hospitals are in the same cluster? Why must patient waste time and money for a referral letter?

    Dear reader PAP,
Indeed, First World Democracy had no POFMA. (see my post no. 8 below yours)

First World Democracy President just do it by pardoning his own son (US) or criminalized and charged Opposition without EVIDENCE. (UK/ROC Taiwan)
    https://english.president.gov.tw/News/6893

40% President Lai Ching-te delivered his 2025 New Year’s Address, titled “Bolstering National Strength through Democracy ”……
….Internationally, we must make friends worldwide through democracy.

My fellow citizens, in order to keep up with First World Democracy, we MUST do what First World Democracy do.

Effectively immediately we will remove POFMA and criminalize and charge Opposition without EVIDENCE.

This way it will keep Singapore democracy on par with all First World Democracy. For more details, please see my post 8 on how First World Democracy is achieved.

    Thanks you.

So you heard the stories. Did you fact check it ?

Assuming that it is true, the question here is:
Why family members or caregiver DID NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITLY to ensure that the mother will not miss the appointment date ? Simply bo chap don’t want to take responsibility 😱right ?

For such important date, my siblings proactively monitor the date and one of us will bring our mother to the eyes hospital on that day. Our mother Our Responsibility.

Here is the reason why you MUST NOT hire Singaporean who are pro actively bo chap (disengaged).

    Hard Truth#1
Singaporeans had bad attitude. They don’t want to take responsibility.
They bochap in the army and they bring along their bochap-ness to work and family.

They bochap about their mothers’ important hospital appointment, they forget about it and then had the audacity to blame others.

Then they play politics and blame others instead of themselves.
Like Zelensky and Ukrainians, These Singaporeans want Freedom Without Responsibility, Democracy Without Responsibility Human Rights Without Responsibility.

Hospital A had all the available public resources (expertise/others) booked for the entire course of the elderly treatment.

Resources are limited and definite. You are disrupting the supply chain of already tight and limited public resources for your selfish needs. (convenience)

You want to save time, transport and labour cost for yourselves without due consideration for others who are also using the same pool of public resources.

You are VERY SELFISH just like In God We Tru$t America and In NO GOD We Tru$t China.
