The speech delivered by our PM on the issue is succinct, timely and to the point, the speech clearly explains the problem we are going to face and the approach we can adopt. Not retaliate but seek consensus from our other trading partners, regional groups etc.

This shows the leadership have done their part well in advance, understand the problem, therefore could manage to tells us the truth, the possible impact on us and what we need to do at the first instance.

The PM’s statement is short, it is possibly because many sinkie have attention deficit disorder and could not understand any speech longer than one minute. Likewise, many sinkie might not know the ghamen has since working very hard on it.

The worst is some immediately jumped out and said this was fear mongering. Probably people who choose to say so know the ruling party very well, knowing that the ruling party will be able to solve the problem and sinkie land will, under the leadership’s hard work, sinkie land will be much better after the crisis.

Our PM and his team are just brilliant and have the welfare of the people in their hearts. We feel fortunate to have them.

To those on the thread, who have praised LW’s actions, just a question, have you taken a look at his choice of the Committee he has set up to address the Tariff. His choice of DL,JT, CHT,NCM etc shows that he won’t be able to address the fallout from the Tariff as it has become a bigger problem because of the increase in the population nos. COL going to skyrocket out of our imagination levels due to the past actions of the PAP. They have made it worst for us.So please vote for the Opposition where there are people who have worked in the private sector and will be able to handle this professionally. The PAP are all cut from the same cloth.

What is more fearful is to have a government that does not care and has no compassion for its own countrymen as in “You die,your business”.

Giving vouchers to mitigate joblessness and livelihoods created by BAD LABOUR POLICIES LIKE FT POLICY and pushing up COL is BAD PUBLIC POLICY in itself.

I believe LW & his gang are just striking fear about the tariffs because of May 3.

Anyway, it is a little too late & most Singaporeans got more real issues & concerns that we’d been facing for the last 5 years at least.

So the fear that PAP is trying to instil doesn’t work.

My prediction for May3 GE : PAP 55%-58% of the votes.
I also expect a bit of a good surprise from the oppositions, particularly WP.

PAP can not be allowed to stay in absolute power if Singapore is to be well.
