A few people suggested that I should patronise stalls run by Singaporeans and not foreigners. I do not agree with this suggestion. We should treat everyone who works in Singapore, whether local or foreigner, without discrimination. Democracy literally means “rule by people” - people elect representatives into government to represent their views and interest. Regular elections - which can be influenced - is but the mechanics; the lifeblood of a democracy is information, communication and trust.
