PAP is always asking for a strong mandate. Warning that there is a possibility of the opposition forming the government in the GE is also the norm. Singaporeans have all these decades given the PAP the strongest mandate. We have empowered them to enact so many laws that restrict our freedom of assembly, speech and expression.... 

Most people don't like to be proven wrong or admit they have made a serious irrevocable mistake of their lives. They would be very Ah Q, Oh it could be worse if I didn't make that decision but they refused to acknowledge people who didn't make that decision have faired much better than them.
