Transport, electricity, water, GST are all being hiked or will be hiked imminently. You have the Ukraine war still raging with no end in sight. You have the Taiwan tensions rising unabated. And now you have the conflagration in the Middle-East which may well turn into a much wider conflict, drawing in the bigger countries. And... 

This morning I went to my favourite neighbourhood bakery to buy a french loaf. The sales lady said $2, as if wondering if I was going to protest. I was taken aback but bought it anyway without argument. The loaf which is about 36cm length is the best among all the bakeries. It used to cost $1.40 then $1.60 and now $2. I think...
