This morning I went to my favourite neighbourhood bakery to buy a french loaf. The sales lady said $2, as if wondering if I was going to protest. I was taken aback but bought it anyway without argument. The loaf which is about 36cm length is the best among all the bakeries. It used to cost $1.40 then $1.60 and now $2. I think...
