FTAs are actually investor rights agreements, rather than free trade agreements. Investors pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into a foreign country want a guarantee that their investments will be protected by the government. LHL's announcement that Singapore will begin our CB phase 3 on 28 December is definitely welcomed news.
