TR EMERITUS

I know it’s not cool to admit to it, but I’m doing well. I am the official owner of a flat that, once you minus the outstanding liability (ie the outstanding mortgage), leaves me with a sum of at least S$200,000 plus. I have a main job in professional services (accounting) and statistically speaking, I produce around US$103,181... 

Jamus is probably right that flights-to-nowhere will appeal only or mostly to the better off - ie, the richer, more well-to-do people who can afford such a luxury during a pandemic. So, I don't see why a tax, even during a pandemic, is not viable. Would it discourage such well-to-do folk from such flights? Would they not take... 

The unemployment and under employment have gotten worst and worst over the years, this pandemic has pushed this further and becoming very obvious since many local PMETS are being let go. Many of my PMET friends have suddenly become redundant during this period. And checking with them, many told me they are let go but so many...
