TR EMERITUS

Someone challenged me on my "research" on the democratic system in China. He asked if I have visited China and spoke to the people there in my research and how long was that done? He gave the impression that that is the expected form of research. I consider his view to be dishonest. (I found out later that he is actually working... 

Just because we have free elections every five years, does it mean our country is more democratic than a country that does not have elections, like China? Governments all over the world fear one thing most - people power, in particular, mass civil disobedience. That, toppled the Shah of Iran and Marcos, brought independence... 

We have inherited a political system from the British. Instead of British Masters we now have our own politicians  to govern the country under a so-called democratic system. The Prime Minister and his Cabinet set out the policies and the civil servants who are supposed to be politically neutral carry them out without question....
