Inflation, Election “lollies” and who will you vote?

I wrote the forerunner of this inflation thread on February 17, 2011 at 5:18 pm at https://www.tremeritus.net/2011/02/17/soaring-food-prices-may-upend-asia/. Interesting enough, and after earlier very recent Ministerial public forecasting of a lower inflation outlook for the second half of 2011, front page read of Straits Times...

Political reform after this election? I think not

Singapore will not have political reform this voting period. As much as we want it so, it won’t happen. Reason bring - there will be tons of people still voting for the ruling party. Example: 1) Business owners (large or small) – They love the FT policy. (Surprise! Surprise!) They can hire cheap labour and pay them less....
