The Causeway I support Mr Ramoo Puru's proposal ("Do away with free vehicle entry from Malaysia"; Monday). Cars under the Off-Peak Car scheme are allowed on the road only after 7pm, and most Electronic Road Pricing gantries stop charging motorists only after 8pm. So why should foreign-registered cars be allowed on our roads...

I noticed that HDB resale buyers are required to pay for stamp duty, not based on purchase price but "on purchase price or market value, whichever is higher". (Click to enlarge) When the market conditions are good, sellers sell their flat at a high price, with high COV, and the stamp duty is based on the true value - selling...
