I refer to the article “Steps to boost transparency of Chas bills” (Straits Times, May 15). Subsidies for 685,000 S’poreans out of 1.3m Chas card holders It states that “The money went to subsidies for some 685,000 Singaporeans. Some 1.3 million Singaporeans are now eligible for Chas, and there are about 1,650 Chas GP... 

Interesting read on the news today. The article is titled "Many working out of need, not out of choice", and article is about the elderly who are still working. Even if the article is not written, most of us in Singapore would know that many of our elderly finds the need to work out of necessity, the need to get money to continue...
