PM Lee claimed at a ministerial forum that a two-party system will not work in Singapore context. Mr Lee based his arguments on two grounds - 1) Singapore is too small to provide enough talent to form two decent political teams 2) Singapore will falter if instead of having one capable political teams, she is run by mediocore... 

Dear Straits Times, I refer to the 9 Apr 2011 letter by Mr Bryan Goh. Mr Goh says it doesn't matter how much our ministers are paid, only that our government is cheap. He also says that our 13% income tax + 7% GST is value for money compared to Western countries' 40% to 60% tax rate. Cheap government doesn't justify expensive... 

The stakes are very high in upcoming election. Since Singapore independence back in 1965 and Malaysia Federation in 1959, we're likely to see an electrifying election in 2011.
