政府把有生产缺陷的地铁列车退回中国修复被揭露后，人民行动党在确保搭客安全方面的努力遭到严重质疑。 我们的地铁系统近年来经常发生因机电问题所引起的故障和失灵事件。有些时候，地铁列车甚至在运行途中发生故障，把搭客滞留在轨道上，使得他们必须沿着轨道徒步走回地铁站。这危害到搭客的安全。 人们的疑虑是：这些问题是中国制列车所造成的吗？ 人民行动党也必须解释，在同时拥有其他国家厂商的选择下，为什么偏偏选择了跟中国购买列车？选择中国的考虑因素有哪些？售价是唯一或是主要的考虑因素吗？有关当局在确保列车达到最高品质要求这方面，又采取了什么样的相应措施？ 据新加坡民主党所了解，有很多政府组屋电梯也是中国生产的。最近，新加坡所发生的一连串电梯意外事件导致多名搭客受伤，甚至有一人丧命。政府是否能够向国人保证我们所使用的电梯具有最高品质？有关当局把合约批给制造商时，有没有经过严谨的审查才做出决定？ 政府必须针对这些问题向公众做出详尽的交代，当局在购买这些中国制的商品时有没有降低安全标准？ 另一方面，为什么政府并没有对外公布有关列车有缺陷，必须退回中国修复的消息？为什么必须等到香港传真社（FactWire...
