See How An Incompetent PM Gets Kicked Out Of Office By Britons On July 4! Under the Conservative Party, Britain has had 5 PMs since 2016 ( Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak). In these 8 years, the county has wallowed in misery, confusion and scandal under incompetent Prime Ministers.From Brexit to the Partygate scandals of Boris Johnson and the kamikaze crashing of the economy under Truss, who barely lasted 49 days in office, the British people have never witnessed a more pathetic set of leaders in such a short space of time. Yesterday,Sunak declared to the nation under pouring rain that Britons will go to the polls on 4 July to elect a new government. Sunak may be the most incompetent of the lot. He and his wife are the wealthiest couple to have ever entered 10 Downing Street as tenants and their wealth even surpasses King Charles. But Sunak is the best example of how wealth does not make a leader. He is totally out of touch with the ordinary Briton and in his 2 years as PM, he demonstrated no vision and imagination of how to revitalise this once great Nation. All he is able to show is that he and his wife’s wealth increased by a massive £120 Million last year. Yesterday, he could not even orchestrate a dignified announcement of the General Elections. The skies were dark and it was about to pour. Instead of having the announcement indoors, he chose to have it outdoors and the rains came down heavily and drenched him. He had the added indignity of having the Labour Party’s campaign song from 1997( when Tony Blair won a landslide)-Things can only get better, blasting loudly in the background.Instead of being an uplifting occasion,the whole occasion became funereal and a comedy. I read with interest The Today’s report, “'We will lead in our own way': : Lawrence Wong takes office as 4th prime minister of Singapore” (May 15). We can get some inspiration or enlightenment from the story of the 108 heroes in Water Margin: they originally had their own abilities, aspirations and ambitions. They were originally meant to serve the court or ruler at that time. However, because they were framed and obstructed by some venal and overbearing bureaucrats/officials in the court at that time, they had no choice but to give up their ideals, visions and aspirations and finally chose to confront the court. Although, the extremely rare examples cited above seem to no longer exist in this advanced and democratic era. However, there will always be a small number of very capable, talented and ambitious "fish" who slip out of the “deliberate” net cast by those in power. In our highly commercialised and industrialised, competitive and democratic society, there are basically two types of highly educated young people. One is to position their goals, aspirations and ideals about making money and building their snug family life, but they are indifferent to politics or society. We should respect the freedom of choice of this group of people. On the other hand, some young people not only care about their own careers or career development and family happiness, but they can also sacrifice some time to pay attention to their country's development trends, politics, social and people's livelihood issues, etc. For example, we can vividly remember the unreserved devotion and sacrifice of their precious time and energy of the opposition members of parliament and NCMPs. Undeniably, the ruling party has been dominating the parliament for decades, but, it can’t entirely or initially come up of every workable solution, strategy and policy seamlessly. All these still require the brainstorming and collaboration of the current and future opposition members to carve and refine them. A passenger has died, and 30 others have been injured after a Singapore Airlines plane from London was hit by severe turbulence over the Andaman Sea. Some passengers said the plane began shaking and then there was a sudden drop. The passenger who died in flight during a severe turbulence on Singapore Airlines Flight SQ321 has been identified as 73-year-old British man Geoffrey Ralph Kitchen. The airline said the nationalities of the affected passengers include Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States and Malaysia. 41 of them are from Singapore, 56 from Australia and 16 from Malaysia.
